About
Marilyn Elliott - What makes me different from other licensed independent insurance agents?

With over 18 years of experience as a former Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) I held positions in charge of a hospital cardiopulmonary division and concurrently, the director for a technical educational program in respiratory therapy where I developed, directed, and achieved full accreditation while holding semester-contracted instructor positions at two community colleges. I then chose to broaden my health care experience branching into home health care. Having served as a regional director and board member for a nationally recognized home health care company, I oversaw a staff to manage a 90,000 patient population covered by Medicare and Medicaid health insurance plans for services administered.
Most recently, I spent over 30 years in Human Resources managing all aspects of employee relations and benefits. Having served as Vice-President and Chief Human Resources Officer for an internationally recognized manufacturer, I took the reins of one of my major responsibilities to manage out-of-control health care costs for the employer-sponsored employee health plan. Employee education and active employee involvement in concert with designing an unconventional Wellness program embedded into the unique self-funded health plan design, yielded $13-15M in annual savings to the company when compared to health plans of employers of comparable size. The result was a rich benefit plan of coverage options at an affordable cost to the employees. It was a win-win for both employees and employers. The plan design remains in full force to this day.
